Where to dance, eat and drink at Europe’s biggest street party

When: Sunday 25 August & Monday 26 August

If this week end you are not going to Reading Festival, Buckingham Palace summer opening, listening Dj’s on Clapham Common, visiting Wonderland at Southbank, viewing the Clipper race Ships in Docklands why not visit the Notting Hill Carnival, or ‘Carrrrnnniiiivvvvvvval’.

This weekend bums will shake, feathers will sway, music will blare and most likely a few boozed-up revellers will swear.

For two whole glorious sunny days the streets of Notting Hill will become host to one of the largest street parties in Europe and it’s all but criminal to not at least swing by and experience one of the best things London has to offer.

This year the procession route will start at Westbourne Grove station and curl its way down Great Westland Street before hitting Westbourne Grove itself and then making its long march down Ladbroke Grove.

Getting a spot anywhere is pretty good, but positioning yourself at the tip of Ladbroke Grove is the best. That way you will not only see the parade slow down as it turns the corner but as you will be on a hill, will also be able to watch it sneaking all the way down.
