Will Caradoc-Hodgkins was commissioned by our client from Oman to completely reconfigure two adjoining apartments in a listed building in St John’s Wood to create one large five bedroomed family home. Strict Codes of Building Practice applied to this listed building and extensive upgrades were necessary to its dated infrastructure including the complete replacement of all windows on the 6th floor without the advantage of scaffolding.
Caz Wray from 4D interiors sourced the bespoke cut marble flooring and hand finished Oak parquet which were laid throughout the flat. The marble floors are Crema Marfil with Argent cabouchons. The wood floor is quarter sawn Oak herringbone parquet with ‘Chemin de Fer’ finish.
Forged cabinetry handles were commissioned and ordered from France. A state of the art kitchen has been designed to fit the complicated space and back to back Ethanol fireplaces, set in Limestone were installed in the two sitting rooms. The team have also designed solid stone bathroom worktops and marble tops for surfaces in the dining room.
Working with interior tailors Violet & George, 4D have also designed extensive curtains and blinds throughout the home.
