4D Studio Appointed to the Richmond and Wandsworth Professional Property Services Framework

Building on more than four decades of work across two remarkable London boroughs.

We are delighted to announce that 4D Studio Architects has been appointed to the Professional Property Services Framework serving the London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth.

For us, this appointment is particularly meaningful. It is not the beginning of a relationship with these boroughs, but the continuation of one that spans more than forty years.

Throughout that time we have had the privilege of contributing to a wide variety of projects that have helped shape communities, support public services and enhance the built environment.

In Richmond upon Thames, our work has ranged from the award-winning Twickenham Riverside Competition, the Royal Ballet School at White Lodge in Richmond Park, the Harlequins RFC Masterplan, projects at Waldegrave School and East Sheen School, together with residential, commercial and educational developments throughout the borough, including Hampton, Hampton Hill, Richmond and East Sheen. Having lived and worked in the borough for many years, Richmond remains a place we know exceptionally well.

In Wandsworth, our most significant recent commission has been our role in the transformation of the Springfield Hospital Estate—one of the borough’s landmark regeneration projects. The development brings together a new state-of-the-art mental health hospital, the creation of Springfield Park and a masterplan delivering approximately 1,288 new homes, demonstrating how healthcare, housing and public realm can be successfully integrated to create lasting social value. Alongside Springfield, we have undertaken projects across the borough including Nine Elms, Battersea, West Hill and a number of residential and commercial developments.

Taken together, these commissions reflect a practice that has developed a genuine understanding of the character, heritage, planning context and aspirations of both boroughs.

Our appointment to the Professional Property Services Framework now provides Richmond and Wandsworth with a straightforward, procurement-compliant route to access that experience for future projects.

As a practice, we continue to work nationally and internationally across healthcare, regeneration, education, heritage, residential development and specialist sectors. However, there is particular satisfaction in continuing to contribute to places that have formed such an important part of our own history.

We look forward to working with officers, elected members, public bodies and partner organisations to help deliver the next generation of projects that will serve the communities of Richmond and Wandsworth.
